This is Our Pledge

100% of your donations go directly to fund efficient and transparent organizations around the world that are both nominated by ODW members and respective boards and go through our thorough grant process. When you donate, you can choose which organization/cause to support or give to a general fund to be dispersed by the Board of Directors. We are able to honor this commitment to give 100% of all donations to fund organizations and projects because private donors and our boards fund our administrative costs.

One Day's Wages is a registered 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax-deductible, as allowed by the law.

Pakistan Flood Relief Fund

74% of Pakistanis live in poverty - on less than $2 US per day.

This was before...

On July 21st, Pakistan began experiencing extreme flooding due to heavy rains and monsoons, causing rivers to breach capacity and entire villages to become submerged. Now, it's estimated that nearly 1/5 of the entire country is underwater.

This natural disaster is affecting nearly 20 million people - more than the Haiti Earthquake AND 2004 Asia Tsunami combined, many aid organizations are estimating. This is due largely to the loss of infrastructure: homes, businesses, crops, health and education services, that will take years to rebuild.

When you give directly ODW, your donation enables our Board and Staff to fund small NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) and CBOs (Community Based Organizations) that have been approved through our thorough grant process. While we joyfully partner with more visible organizations, one of our main goals are to partner with small organizations whose annual budget is under $100,000 USD.

100% of your donations (minus transaction costs) go directly to these organizations that we throroughly vet and profile on our website. Grants mostly range from $1000 - $10,000 USD.

Additionally, the General Fund may be used to help fill an existing ODW partner org's fundraising goal for the project listed on our website.

Nuru International

WHO IS NURU?

Nuru International began operations in 2008 in Kuria, Kenya. Nuru (a Kiswahili word meaning light) intentionally engaged Kuria for six months doing fact finding research to establish the areas most pressing needs. Through this they developed holistic programs active in the following areas: water/sanitation, agriculture, education, healthcare, and community economic development. They have worked to partner with several NGOs on the ground to drill wells and implement agricultural programs.

HEAL Africa

HEAL Africa's hospital and community development work address the root causes of illness and poverty for the people of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. HEAL Africa is based in Goma, DRC, a region where war has claimed over 5 million lives since 1998.

ODW's partership with HEAL Africa is to raise $25,000 in order to provide 250 Fresh Start Kits for women which provides training and skills and provides equipment they need to go back to their villages and begin to support themselves. Items may include a sewing machine, a goat, or another small livestock.

Haiti Relief & Rebuild Fund

One Day's Wages' goal is to raise a minimum of $100,000 towards the relief and rebuilding efforts in Haiti. We've personally committed $5,000 from our General Giving Fund and believe that through our ODW movement and network, we can reach our goal and beyond for the people of Haiti. Consider donating a day's wages or any amount to the fund. 100% of donations (minus c.c. transaction costs) will go directly to the emergency relief and rebuilding efforts in Haiti and to support families and communities affected by the earthquake.
