The Not For Sale Campaign equips and mobilizes Smart Activists to deploy innovative solutions to re-abolish slavery in their own backyards and across the globe.  There are 27 million enslaved people around the world. ODW is partnering with Not For Sale to raise the funds to establish a border crossing between Nepal and India. This border crossing will include safe houses, monitoring programs, and services at the border town.  Each border center can be established for $25,000.

Last year, Maiti Nepal teams on the border rescued almost 2000 girls from the sex trade! 

THE PARTNERSHIP

One Day's Wages is excited to partner with Not For Sale to fund and establish one Maiti Nepal border center which includes safe houses, monitoring program, and other support services for girls in danger of being trafficked on the Nepal-India border.

WHO IS NOT FOR SALE?

WHY A SAFE HOUSE?

There is an alarming number of Nepalese children and young women being trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation every day into India's brothels. The Maiti Nepal team has created 8 transit homes in the Nepal-India border towns to confront this tremendous issue.

They have established border surveillance team - comprised mostly of former trafficking victims themselves - that survey the transit buses with local police to help identify criminals smuggling victims. Last year alone, Maiti Nepal's teams rescued almost 2000 girls from the sex trade!
