One Day's Wages
When you give directly ODW, your donation enables our Board and Staff to fund small NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) and CBOs (Community Based Organizations) that have been approved through our thorough grant process. While we joyfully partner with more visible organizations, one of our main goals are to partner with small organizations whose annual budget is under $100,000 USD.
100% of your donations (minus transaction costs) go directly to these organizations that we throroughly vet and profile on our website. Grants mostly range from $1000 - $10,000 USD.
Additionally, the General Fund may be used to help fill an existing ODW partner org's fundraising goal for the project listed on our website.
One Day's Wages (ODW) is an international grassroots movement dedicated to ending extreme global poverty. The numbers are staggering:
- 25,000 children under the age of 5 die each day due to poverty-related causes.
- Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease, and kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Nearly 900 million people do not have access to clean water.
- Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their names.
The good news is that, there are already individuals and organizations around the world doing amazing work to end extreme global poverty. We're not trying to re-invent the wheel but rather to collaborate and partner with others. In short, One Day's Wages is joining them in the fight.
