My Story
My name is Wylie Mao and I am a 16-year-old high school student
from Seattle, Washington. In the summer of 2012, I will be biking from Savannah, Georgia to Los Angeles, California to raise funds and awareness for the global water crisis. [Click here to learn more about my story.]
Pedal Across America for Clean Water
Ten other students will be embarking on this journey with me, starting on June 22nd on the shores of the Atlantic and reaching the Santa Monica pier on August 3rd. For the six weeks of my trip, I will be without any personal electronics in attempt to truly connect with my surroundings.
Although the issues of the global water crisis are complex, solutions are simple and it is for that reason I feel confident in the power of individual donations.
I am partnering with One Day's Wages to achieve my goal of raising $5000 for the ODW Water Fund, the approximate amount it costs to bring water to a community previously without it.
