I was born in Taiwan. My family immigrated to Australia when I was 10 and moved back to Taiwan when I was 13. I was educated at an American International school in Taiwan through Middle school and High school. I then attended Wheaton college for a Bible/Business double degree. After getting married to my college friend, we attended Fuller Seminary for a Master of Arts in Theology. God called us both to go to China where we felt called to minister to the people not only in Word but in Deed, so we have been working in a Christian non profit organization that seeks to serve the peoples of China in tangible ways. Most of our involvement were with a Project serving disabled children and serving other associates by assisting them in language/culture acquisition. Currently, we are taking a leave from China and settling in Taiwan for now. We are looking forward to what God has for us in our next steps.
Having worked in an organization that works "on the ground" and appealing to funders, I am interested in being on the other side of funding. Having seen poverty in person and growing in understanding of the injustice of poverty in our world, as Christians we cannot ignore the persistent calling in Scriptures to care for the poor. It's so easy to forget about the plight of the poor unless we are actively engaged in fighting for them and investing our treasures where our hearts need to be. I hope that supporting ODW will help my family place a constant priority on serving those stricken by poverty.
