having spent a good two years harrassing eugene cho as his associate pastor, i thought i should probably get out of his (pretty lengthy at the time) hair so he could stop spending his energy proving he could play basketball better than me and start a movement like ODW.
i've pastored, bartended, financed homes, helped people insure their homes/cars, and currently am working with lifetree cafe, helping them spark a national conversation to reach people who might never step foot in a church. (http://lifetreecafe.com or http://apps.facebook.com/lifetreecafe)
i met the love of my life about 17 years ago right , and married her about 2 yrs later. we have two boys, henri (9) and harrison (5) who spend so much time in the pool that they're growing gills!
we live in fort collins, co, and miss seattle greatly (esp. seafood, friends, any ethnic food, good restaurants, etc). we feel that god has called us here for this season, and has opened some really neat doors for us here.
i've got a blog at http://itsamountain.wordpress.com - the name was inspired by my favorite band U2...
i have to say i'm really proud of eugene and the impact he's having on the local effort of expanding god's kingdom in seattle, and of the global effort he's spawned with odw. god speed my friend!
when you think about things on a global level, despite being "smack dab" in the middle of the middle class, we are still more wealthy than 99% of the world - to share a day's wages feels pretty minor... i really respect eugene & minhee cho for paving the way they have to lead each of us in taking tiny steps together which collectively create an ever-growing footprint in the march against poverty in the world.
