Hi all!
Thanks for visiting my page!
I am a pre-public health student at the Universtiy of Washington. I am a part of Asian American Intervarsity Christan Fellowship (AAIV) and am a member of Vietnam Health Clinic (non-profit student led organization).
I desire to know my indescribable God. Our God is the God of compassion, restoration, hope, love, mercy, and grace. I believe that God has been and is continuing to build my passions to love his people, the underserved, the weak, the empty, the lost, the broken.
Over the course of a couple years to present I feel that God has really challenged me to examine my life and ask these questions.
What does it mean to hunger? What does it mean to be broken before our God? What does it mean to give up your life for Christ? What does it mean to live like Jesus did?Besides, what else could my life be worth living for?
Pondering these questions, I think God is calling me more and more each day to discover how wonderful and deep, complex he is. He pours out and he exceeds every expectation. I know I want to grow my vision and heart for His will and everyday I learn something new that I know that God is the only one in control of all things. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities and experiences that God has put in my life that have really shaped and formed my perspectives and faith and has also humbled me.
I don't know what my future will look like right this instant, but as I pursue public health I want to give all honor and glory to God and serve in the ways that I can to fight for what stirs inside of my heart.
I hope that through ODW I will be able to raise awareness with my friends and family to the ways we can serve the needs of the broken work towards the solutions that will change the status of global devastation. Hopefully, I want to be able share the love of Jesus Christ: to care and act to make change with my friends and family!
"The place God calls us is the place where the world's hunger and our deep desire meet"
Luke 18.22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven."
According to the United Nations Development Program figures: The richest 20 percent of the world's population receives 82.7 percent of the total world income while the poorest 20 percent receives only 1.4 percent...
"Poverty is the inability to change circumstances not the inability to help oneself'
---Simple Spirituality By Chistopher L Huertz
I believe that sustainability is one of the most powerful tools in guiding and implementing social change in making progress to eliminating extreme global poverty. I know One Day's Wages is contributing to global change that is sustainable, educating, building, and training people around the world to help jumpstart and break the cycle of poverty. I know a lot of people are wary to give away money, but I know that this money is going towards building up broken people and going towards building social infrastructures that can improve access to healthcare and access to resources. God has a heart for the broken and He is a God of justice and unending love and one way we can reach these people is through ODW.
I support ODW not only in raise funds to rebuild devastated communities, but also to raise awareness that is a huge part in approaching the global inequities of this world.
