Project #20 Funded | Krochet Kids [Peru]

We are excited to share more great news that was only possible because you decided to stand with us and join the ODW movement.

Because of your generosity and support, we were able to fully fund our $21,000 partnership goal with Krochet Kids international (KKi), which will help empower the people of Peru to take control of their own development.

How Did We Accomplish This?

We were able to fully fund this project because so many of you joined the movement by spreading the word and giving to the campaign. Some donated their one day's wages or other amounts; others donated their birthday through our Birthday for a Cause Campaigns. We also had some creative Idea for a Cause Campaigns, including Angie who shaved her head and Amy and Jordan who asked people to give to KKi instead of giving them wedding gifts.

KKi seeks to empower people by offering them assets, skills and knowledge to pull themselves out of poverty. The byproduct of these programs is headwear and accessories made by KKi beneficiaries. Through the sales of these products, KKi is able to ensure the sustainability of these projects.

This partnership will help provide the initial start-up cost to launch a new KKi project in Lima, Peru. This will include helping to provide wages and a working space for 10 vulnerable men and women. KKi's model is built around developing a cycle of sustainable growth and empowerment for years to come.

A Message From KKi

We are honored to see this campaign fully funded and humbled by all the ways in which people got involved to see this through to the very end! Angie shaved her head, Jordan & Amy gave up their wedding gifts, Collaborative World offered proceeds from their t-shirt sales, and the stories go on.

A HUGE thanks to One Day's Wages for creating and providing this platform for non-profits like ourselves to engage more people in creating real change around the globe and offering true empowerment to individuals through our programs. This money will truly help launch a program in Peru that will be employing and educating marginalized men and women for generations to come. Beautiful.
