One Day’s Wages (ODW) is an international grassroots movement dedicated to ending extreme global poverty. ODW promotes awareness, invites giving, and supports sustainable relief through partnerships, especially with smaller organizations in developing regions.
Our mission is to work with others in ending extreme global poverty. And to pursue that mission, we also have a strategy.
Human Relationships + Techology/Social Media + Vision =
Movement to end Extreme Global Poverty
What is our key strategic plan?
1. Human Relationships.
Despite what some may think, money is not the solution. In fact, money can be devastating if not utilized properly. Our strategy is not to invest money but invest in people and healthy organizations doing effective and transparent work to empower people to uplift themselves out of poverty.
2. Simple and Transparent Giving
Invite anyone and everyone to simple strategic giving by inviting people to invest their One Day's Wages and to renew this pledge every year on one's birthday (or even weekly, monthly, bi-annually)
3. Promote Awareness / Technology & Social Media
Utilize human relationships and technology/social media to raise the profile of our movement and thus, share our stories, influence policies that impact the poorest of the poor, and fund more projects and organizations.
4. Partner with Effective Organizations.
We'll fund NGOs and CBOs in their projects and causes that are working to lift women, men, and children out of extreme poverty.
