Relief for Women & Children in the Middle East

World Vision

One Day’s Wages is partnering with World Vision to provide resources for women, children, and their families seeking refuge in the Middle East.

Why Syria?

It’s been seven years since the war in Syria began and people are still seeking refuge from the continued violence. The war has impacted over 13.1 million people in Syria, with more than 5 million fleeing the country as refugees. The majority of these refugees are women and children, seeking safety predominantly in Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq. The need in these areas is great, and there’s an opportunity for us to join together to provide resources of empowerment for these women, children, and their families.

ODW + World Vision

Our partnership will provide relief resources for refugees in the Middle East. World Vision has provided aid to more than 2.3 million refugees since the start of the Syrian civil war. In Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey, World Vision aids refugees with food, water and sanitation, healthcare, psychosocial support, education, job training, winter supplies, and other needed assistance. Women and children are among the most impacted by the conflict in Syria, so our partnership will provide resources based on their greatest needs. Part of this work will include continuing safe spaces for children to learn and empowering women through economic resources including jobs & skills training.

Join us as we provide support and resources for refugees. 100% of donations (minus credit card fees) will go directly into the work being done to empower children, women, and their families in the Middle East. The progress bar above shows the money being raised towards the $100,000 goal, which will be matched by One Day’s Wages for a total up to $200,000.

Meet Wafao

Wafao fled from Syria five years ago, leaving behind the house she owned. When she first got to Lebanon, she was working in the fields for 6-8 hours a day. She’s now part of an economic development project where she’s being trained as a seamstress. She proudly made the red dress she’s wearing in this photo, and is one of the best students in her program. She hopes for peace so that she can return to Syria, rebuild her home, and find work as a seamstress in her country.

Seven years is a long time to listen
